年夜饭背后之意义

Ever think of why Chinese has to have the reunion dinner in such exaggerate manner? My 大姐 told me there is a theory behind it. Things to have for the dinner are list below:

金-海鲜（鱼/虾）
木-菜
水-汤类
火-红肉 （猪/羊）
土-白肉 （鸡/鸭）

不用 公筷= 互相扶持
Hmm。。。I dun really know how to get over this.
